Details: Politico writes that NATO intends to stop Russia if it decides to extend the war beyond Ukraine. That is why the Alliance talks about strengthening the eastern borders and the need to send up to 300,000 troops to the border.

Such actions require coordination and major efforts from the 30 NATO members to provide soldiers, training facilities, large quantities of weapons, equipment and ammunition.

However, the news outlet stresses that coordination could be a challenge as many allies are already concerned about their own insufficient ammunition supplies, which take time and money to replenish.

Politico writes that NATO military leaders must submit updated regional defense plans. Alliance officials are putting forward the idea that borders with Russia should be guarded by up to 300,000 troops, the news outlet reports.

It is noted that the first echelon of NATO forces can consist of about 100,000 soldiers, ready to deploy within 10 days. These may include troops from Poland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The second echelon of troops, Politico writes, will support these soldiers, ready to deploy from countries like Germany in 10-30 days.
